Union of Arab Chambers Hosts Tomorrow the "Arab Private Sector Forum" in the presence of President Saad Hariri

Mr. Saad Hariri, the Lebanese Prime Minister will inaugurate on Wednesday 16-1-2019 at 10 am, the "Arab Private Sector Forum" organized by the Union of Arab Chambers in cooperation with the League of Arab States, Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group & FLCCIA at its headquarters (Adnan Al Qassar Building for Arab Economy).

The Forum is particularly important as one of the activities of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, to be hosted by Lebanon on Sunday.

The forum will attract more than 400 participants from 24 Arab and foreign countries, led by ministers and delegates from Arab and Joint Chambers of Commerce, as well as a crowd of businessmen.

Speakers at the opening session other than President Saad Hariri: Minister of Economy and Trade Raed Khoury, Governor of the Banque du Liban Riad Salama, Chairman of the Union of Arab Chambers Mohamad Abdo Saeed, President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers Mohamed Choucair, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the League of Arab States, Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali.

30 speakers will participate in the panels including: Dr. Ghada Wali, Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, Atef Helmy, the Former Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Ahmed Al-Wakil, the Chairman of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, Sheikha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa, the President of the International Federation For Bahraini Business & Professional Women, Sheikha Hessa al-Abdullah , the Chairperson of the Council of Arab Businesswomen, Claudine Aoun Roquez, the President of the National Commission for Lebanese Women, Bassel Al-Khatib, the Regional Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Mr. Yousef Khalawi, the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia, William Wakileh, CEO of General Electric, Dr. Nadeem Al Monla, Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister of Lebanon, President and General Manager of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL) and Jack Sarraf, the President of the Lebanese Investors Association.

 

The five themes of the Forum are:

• The role of the private sector and financing institutions in sustainable development, intraregional trade and reconstruction.

• Fourth industrial revolution and the next economic stage.

• Arab Women and Economic Empowerment.

• Entrepreneurship and SMEs: the transition key to the knowledge economy.

• Lebanon and the Partnership after the Cedar Conference.
